ok, So I had the same issue where after unpgrading to windows 10 my scanner ceased to work but printer was perfectly fine. I even called Canon tech support, and as much help as the rep was able to give me, the only option he gave me was to just buy a new printer and that Canon would offer a discount on a used printer.
